Laser Examiner mobile app

The companion app of a Bluetooth enabled device for car repair shops and workshops. The product is a tool for the measurement of disk brake wear and the tire tread.
The app allows the device to be internet connected, and give a gorgeous and meaningful User Interface.
I lead the design of the Android app. Also, I managed the team of developers.

Learnings

Through research, we discovered that the typical user is not a mechanic (as for the majority of the product line of the company). The user could be a tire specialist, a mechanic but also an acceptance operator. An acceptance operator doesn’t have a technical background. He (or she) could even not be familiar with some technical words. This discovery influenced the product itself and the copyright at the core. Without analysis and research, we would have tailored the product for the wrong users and exposed some features which could be confusing for a no-technical profile.
